What is the Yakeishi Tourism Development Liaison Council?
The Yakeishi Tourism Development Liaison Council was established in 1977 to promote tourism development in the Yakeishi area of Kurikoma Quasi-National Park.
It is a cooperative body formed by three municipalities surrounding the Yakeishi district—Yokote City and Higashinaruse Village in Akita Prefecture, and Oshu City in Iwate Prefecture (formerly Jumonji Town, Masuda Town, Higashinaruse Village, Mizusawa City, and Isawa Town).
The council's purpose is to foster tourism development and contribute to the preservation of the region.
Mt. Yakeishi is counted among Japan's "100 Famous Flower Mountains" and is highly valued as a treasure trove of alpine plants.
The number of climbers has been increasing year by year.
Recognizing Mt. Yakeishi as a precious tourism resource, the council actively promotes it as the core of tourism development through various publicity activities.
